I've done BASIC programming before, but I am new to the world of CRBasic. Any suggestions on where to start?
Campbell Scientific conducts training classes every month. This is highly recommended for new users.

There is not a tutorial on data types yet but there is a good section in the CR1000 manual starting on page 118.

Our Short Cut program generator can be a useful learning tool. Generate a program in Short Cut and then open the resulting CR? file up in the CRBasic Editor and study it relative to what you asked Short Cut to do.
The Help in the CRBasic Editor also covers available data types quite well.
